SPANK ME! For CharityThis was inspired from a few things. After the birthday I was playing around with my avatar and thought I might create a game involving it but then I thought of ~Topicality's recent endeavor and decided to turn it into something for charity instead.
The charity I have selected is LUMOS, which was co-founded by JK Rowling.
My goal is $1,000 USD
This will last until the goal is met or September 16, 2011.

How did you first discover deviantART?

I first discovered deviantART because of a web design class I took with my sister and a friend. Our teacher wanted us to use stock for mock pages and we ended up finding dA. My sister and friend joined dA and I just kinda watched them. I wasn't much of an online type back then. I managed my sister's page when she made her side portfolio account and started scanning in her older works. So when I took over `PainInTheAssimilated, I kinda already knew what I was doing.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

I just kinda wanted to blow time when I was in college. I just started posting stuff, to see how long it'd take before I got banned for simply being me. Turns out I'm not ban worthy yet

How did you first discover deviantART?

I never knew about the internet until I was about 7 or 8 years old, where I would just play games on there once in a while. When I was about 11, I browsed around the internet a little more often, and ended up reading fanfiction of some movies and TV shows

. I looked at some of the profiles of authors, and some linked their dA accounts. I browsed around that deviantART for a short time and dismissed it as nothing.
Shortly after turning 13, my English teacher made my class participate in the National Novel Writing Month where I typed my fingers off over 21,000 words and became an active member in the forums. How did you first discover deviantART?

I heard of DA because of a friend who was a member since a few months. He knew I loved to photograph too. So, I am on here since more than two years now.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

Oh, at first, I was thrilled to upload some of my photos on Internet and to receive feedback.
Just know that it was my very first real experience on Internet, I was just going on there for my work and for emails before.
Little by little, I got in contact with other deviants, exchanging comments, making friends, etc. As I am quite talkative, all of this happened fast enough...
Also, I like the way DA is working, the framing, the many possibilities it offers, like journals, articles, polls, statistics and many other features. I am very at ease on its environment.

How did you first discover deviantART?

Well to be completely honest, i had no idea that this site even existed, until i got with husband . He told me about this website that is dedicated to artist , and I took and look and decided to join.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

Its addicting !! Ok well it is but the real reason why, is because of how amazing everyone is. The people i had met when i first got on da were amazing! The more and more people i meet, i feel like im growing not with only myself but with all of those around me.
Also i would have to say all the inspiration i have gotten from so many different types of art, and the biggest thing is being able to relate to people, because we all have our story !

How did you first discover deviantART?

I was looking at art online when I was young, and saw `loish's work, it eventually led me to deviantART. I lurked for a while, then eventually joined!
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

I wanted to post my artwork... however once I discovered chats, I learned about GMs (now CV's) and Daily Deviation suggesting. I had and continue to have the loving support that keeps me here, along with my ability to find and collect beautiful artwork- Tis it is all about the art!

What is the story behind your username?

At one point I wanted to do debate in high school, but I've gone off to do other things. I was thinking of good user names and was playing with a random word generator. It came up with the word Topicality, a word I remembered was used in debate. It's used in debate when one is g

In case you are not aware- prior to posting this journal, my last posted News article was on my page and I am not much of a fan of that. All the other changes occurring I can tolerate.
The fact that the line between journals and news and deviations is now, mostly, non-existent I find it troubling; disappointing.

TL;DR- I'd be REEAALLLL happy if i were to at least have just the one tiny OPTION to not have my news pop up on my front page.

How did you first discover deviantART?

Because I'm senile, I don't quite remember. But I think someone tipped me about it as a place to post my nerdy Tolkien drawings. This was before Photoshop got a hold on me.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

The whole interactive aspect. Connecting with other artists, making friends, soaking up inspiration.

What is the story behind your username?

'Tis a boring story. I was 'Wilder Wein' on a Rammstein forum for many years (It's the title of a song and means 'wild wine'). When I signed up on dA, that was the first thing that came to mind. Of course 'WilderWein' was taken so I slapped my year of birth at the end. Told you it was boring. If I could change it, I probably would. Are you on it, dA?

Journals: The Tweaks We ALL WantWell, that didn't entirely go as planned.

There are a few issues with the Journal implementation, but there aren't any issues we can't easily fix. And we got so much great feedback, that we now clearly understand some things we didn't before. The best part is, we're going to get the best of both worlds for Journals. All of the benefits of the deviation system for Journals, with all of the resolutions that were vocalized as concerns.
Monday of next week, we're going to release the following changes so that everyone can SMILE!

When you go to publish a Journal, you'll be able to Submit your Journal to your Profile just as you did before the changes. The Journal will go out to your +Watch list, display on your Journal tab and on your Profile Page (if applicable.) There wouldn't be a +Favorite button unless you Submit to The deviantART Journal.
