UPDATE: 15,000 Point GiveawayMy sincere apologies for my severe delay in announcing the winners. I have had a multitude of personal matters arise that required my immediate and full attention (some of which are still being worked on). If you do not care to know the details you may skip the following paragraph.
I had been working on my car for some time (This is wrong. No, this is wrong. You need this part.. maybe this part.) and then one day it just broke down. Roughly at the same time I am notified that my health insurance policy was cancelled and they can't tell me why as I have been making my payments. What is going on with that remains a mystery. Soon after all this, I come to find out that my mother's dog (whom I help care for) has Lyme disease and heart worms. To add to all this I am working two jobs at 50 ~ 60 hours a week.
My goal is to have the winners announced by Monday(July 21 EST). That is my goal/hope. I am going to make every effort to make that happen but should life throw
A small favor, please?Today, June 30, marks the birthday of my friend Calcytr0n.
Until very recently she was not permitted to celebrate her birthday at all.
All I ask is if you would, please, be so kind as to make this a special one for her and simply leave her a "Happy Birthday" comment on her page, I would appreciate it very much!

Can you dig it? I have had the honor and privilege of being involved in DelveMag since its first issue in early 2010. My thanks to its mother, jenepooh, for bringing me along for the ride. I have since taken more of a backseat to the project. However, I am delighted to see that, even with Real Life rearing its head in the faces of all involved (and some of those faces changing with time), Delve still thrives.
A new issue was just recently released and AlanRalph, layout editor, had this to say:
"The focus in this issue is FAN ART, its history, inspirations, and all its various forms - drawing, painting, digital modelling, traditional sculpture, cosplay, plushies, even a few crossovers and mashups. Whether it's books, TV shows, movies, videogames or comics, there's something in this issue for everyone."
I strongly encourage all deviants to check it out. Also, if you have a piece, article, tutorial of your own that you'd
Je suis mort.Surprise! I'm not dead.. I think.
However, work did nearly consume me. (I'd work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift in the span of a week. ) Now, I'm getting out of that vicious cycle. Kinda.
Anywho... So, am I "back"? I wouldn't say that. I like to think that I never really left because constantly this place and all of you in it (yes, ALL OF YOU yup, even you) have been on my mind. Mushy, I know, I know. :iconcryforever:
Not promising anything but I intend to be around more-ish. Sorta loom in the shadows like a professional creeper. _
I see the symbols have changed.. and moved around ( 'Behind The Symbol') that's a bit whoa. And yet, oddly enough, I still get DD suggestions I can't do DDs but I can do this....
...but please feel free to note me with deviations and I'll happily

says, "Well, for anyone that doesn't know, I have terminal cancer and when I pass my blog will probably be taken down. I just wanted the posts to go somewhere. And no, don't panic! I'm not going to ask you to read 3 years worth of blog entries.
I'd just like you to read one. And if you could just consider donating blood or bone marrow(stem cells)... I mean, i don't think there's any hope left for me, but if there is, i'd be grateful if someone would be willing to give me that chance. It's not like most people think, so if you'd just give my post a read, you might find it's not as terrifying/painful/difficult as you might think."

PracticeBy now everybody already knows that becoming a good artist doesn't come from talent alone. On contrary; talent is a myth. Like the famous quote goes: "Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration". Meaning so much that even with a good idea and a bright mind, you still have to work your ass off in order to achieve something. While this makes mad skills available for basically everybody, I still hear many people complain about practice being a rather boring thing, or about them practicing a lot but still getting nowhere.
So I thought; Oh well... Why no article about practice?
Conscious vs unconscious practice
First of all lets divide practice in roughly two types. You have the conscious type of practice. This is the kind of practice in which you're sitting down and thinking to yourself "Hell yeah! I'm gonna draw some <subject> today to get better at this!". And then there's the unconscious type of practice. The type of practice that is often more playful an

Art and value of timeDear, deviantart fellow artists
Our lives go by so fast and the time for what we really want to do is limited. So, how to wisely value our time, how to make the best of every single day and keep on creating?
Here are some of my thoughts about the topic and I hope that they might be helpful.
Sort what are the most important things you need to do as soon as possible and start with that. Make a list with what needs to be done and sort them by how necessary it is to do them, how much time it will aproximately take and how the result could impact your life. We have to make constant sacrifices in order to achieve our goals - instead of watching that useless youtube video, instead of checking e-mail and social media sites all the time, instead of whining that there is no time, but actually using what we have - everyone of us have 24h in a day, the difference between
Colouring Mini Contest! (5 Entries)Welcome to Cru first colouring mini-contest!

(PSD file: lineart Innairyn)
Innairyn is one of the minor character of my fantasy novel. She is the Goddess of Hope, to which Kyed did his vow. She keeps the hopes of the people who vowed to her in sparkling globes of various dimensions, depending on the intensity of the hope and in the desperation of who did the solemn promise. She is merciful and kind, but she can read in the hearts of people their real intentions. People that wants to vow to her, needs to do the same tattoo of her forehead on the shoulders.
When the hope is finally realized, it is said that the tattoo will disappear...

I've never drawn her before, so she doesn't have a defined colour palette. That means that you have full freedom in colouring her! And I hope yo

Rest In Peace Robin Williams 1951 - 2014On August 11, 2014 Robin Williams reportedly succumbed to depression.
Williams could make an audience laugh and, just as easily, cry. His most notable works include Mork and Mindy, Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting, and Mrs. Doubtfire.
In light of Mr. Williams cause of death, Aeirmid has opened a discussion about the devastating impact of mental illness.
