How did you first discover deviantART?
First and foremost, I would like to say that it is a pleasure to be interviewed by you `PurpelBlur
[Blurple] It is fantastic to have you with us today!
*shakes hand, takes seat, clear throat.* It was by accident that I stumbled upon deviantART. I was destined to join FictionPress.net but failed to wear my glasses while searching for their "Sign-Up" link. I ended up clicking on their "New Submission" category and found myself reading a few submissions. I feel in love with one story on there and decided to read more by the author. When I clicked on their page, I discovered that they only had one story submitted here and had moved all of their other works to deviantART I quickly ran to my best friend, "Google" and typed in deviantART with the quickness.
What was it about dA that made you want to stay?
I honestly cannot say what made me stay on deviantART. When I finally clicked on the link provided by Google, the front layout had no traces of literature on it. However, after "perusing" the cold block of deviantART with an ice pick, the literature soon gave way and I discovered many authors that enjoyed the same craft as myself.. . Wait maybe that was my reason for wanting to stay. *nervous laugh, sips water*
What is the story behind your username?
Funny you should ask, I actually stole the username from one of my stories. Actually I have the excerpt right here. *Fumbles around with papers*
I watched as he reached into his pocket and pulled out a little tape recorder. He fumbled around, moving the now lit cigarette from one hand to the other before deciding to place it between his lips. "What we are going to do is get your side of the story recorded on this." He waved the recorder around before dropping it on the desk in front of me. "You are to tell the truth and all of the truth. I will ask you certain questions depended upon what you tell me."
I knew that this day would come... That it would be me as the narrator...
I tell ya, took me five hours to get a username that I could live with until I decide to leave deviantART.
What do you remember of your childhood in regards to art?
I remember getting spanked as a child for always defacing walls and clothes with crayons and markers. My love for art itself always made my parents uneasy. I remember those days I would ask for crayola crayons get them then discover that they were missing only a few days later. *laughs* Oh my parents were sneaky.
Now, when it comes to writing. . . I remember getting punished for writing vulgar stories as such a young age. Don't ask me how I did it All I know is saying "-and the hole opened up and the stick went in." (actual words lol) is not something your mother would want to read in your stories. My mind was already set on "adult" long before I hit age twelve.
Was there anything or anyone in particular that prompted your choice of art form?
Shockingly enough I was an art student in high school, focusing on abstract design and photo manipulation while those English students were winning writing contests. But one day an English peer happened to praise me on some short story I wrote and I knew that was my moment. As if summoned by a higher power I stepped out of my art class and got into the first creative writing course that was available. I must tell you, when I walked down the aisle of the auditorium to receive my first writing award, I never wanted to turn back
I have been writing ever since! *smiles*
Who or what motivates you to continue creating?
We all have our flaws so I have no reservations in saying that me, myself, and I. I know it is very egotistical but if I allowed others to motivate me, I would probably end up growing envious of their success. *nervous laugh, sips more water.*
Of your own work, which has the most meaning to you and why?
*Fumbles around with papers* I love all of my work . . . But there are selected few that have my praise for numerous reasons. I have two right here. I do apologize I left the others at home.

Demon
『 At First Glance』
He stands around five feet and nine inches tall with his boots on. Jetice is always seen in a rather suggestive dark-brown loincloth that sits comfortably on his waist. His cape fits rather loosely around his neck and the edges have been torn away so that it's short enough for him to move about quickly. His boots are made of the same type of synthetic material and are forever stained with dried mud and specks of dirt. Both of his eyes are of a golden color in the light, that seemed almost orange in the shadows. Don't be fooled, they are contacts that try
This is the first character I have ever created. He was born a few days after I was grounded for my "hole opens up" story during my youthful years and he has been with me ever since. His personality has been set in stone and he has gone on many adventures in many stories. He has gone from being a full demon to a half demon. He was once and dragon slayer but now is an obnoxious wizard. His choices of clothes have been a cape, makeshift loin cloth, and boots since his birth and it still remains the same. *caresses paper* in a way, he is me well personality wise appearance wise no.
This story is one of my favorites out of my stash. I wrote it after an argument with my partner and decided to create a story based around my feelings at that time. The reason it has meaning is because this is the first (and probably last) story that was created simply to portray a moment in my personal life. Please don't take the story as being 100% literal. It's all fictitious but there is a hidden message in it that I was focusing on The characters in the story are just pawns.
Do you have any personal goals in relation to deviantART?
Yes I plan on starting a literature movement focused around those who write but are lost to the "popular" categories on deviantART. I believe writing is essential and should be seen more. Heh If I could, I would love to start a deviantWRITE but that would be so controversial. *sips water*
Are you working on any projects or wish to promote some projects?
The Narrative OC MEMEI. Choose up to five (5) of your favorite original story characters that will embark in this role-play. If you don't have five (5) then leave them blank (or create a character on the spot!) Be sure to give a little description of them:

2.
3.

II. One of your characters decides to make a grand entrance into a random tavern. How does that go? Pick either Character One or Character Four :
III. Jealous, Character Three tries to make a grand entrance as well but somehow fails why is that?
IV. A character is surrounded by many enemies and decides that the only thing they can do is fight! How does that go? Pick eithe
Since I came to deviantART, my goal has been to inspire others to write. I have seen many writers on here and some are lost to writers block or struggle with ideas for stories. *pulls out book* My first book, The Narrative OC meme was created in order to motivate those who seek assistance but don't want to be bound to groups to result to altering the many non-literature based meme's around.
Also, From the Narrative Meme, came the group known as #YouAsTheNarrator that offers character prompts, music prompts, monthly prompts, chatroom help, comments, and all that other stuff people enjoy. Can we go to a commercial I need a smoke break. *glances at the emotes*

Which movies did you enjoy most?
*comes back* Thank you I so needed that Oh.. are we back on the air?
I really do enjoy scary movies even though they don't make me scream or have nightmares. I am also a fan of action and movies that involve fantasy. I don't like documentaries or romance movies but I will watch them I always seem to cry to those type of movies because I do something that I really shouldn't do I relate them to my own life and then distort it and it's a crazy process.

FD1: Jetice
A hard sigh escaped from the closed lips of a young demon. That slender frame eased back in a chair and tilted the legs just a little. Golden orbs vanished behind heavy eyelids once he felt he was comfortable. A demanding stomach let out its cries of neglect, and was met by a soft rub of sympathy. The breeze from outside flowed in, and the sound of life could be heard from beyond the open windows.
This was Jetice, one of the laziest demons to ever be found working in such a strange establishment. He was put on front desk duty and had been posted there since morning- he was still waiting for customers. Again, he let out a rather disappointed

『 At First Glance』
I would be considered a normal man, standing at about six feet; give or take. I wear nothing but white clothing; pants, shirt, and boots. Yes it's a hassle to keep clean, but the color keeps me closer to God. I would consider my build to be normal but I'm sure people would think I have been working out. My upper body is that of a swimmer's build slight more defined though. I make sure to keep myself in the best of shape I can. My hair isn't as chaotic as my pictures would suggest. It is long and of a violet color. It stays in a ponytail, held toget
What type of music do you listen to? (Specific groups/artists?)
*gets nervous* You may find this weird but I listen to videogame music. My iPod is filled to capacity with music from all of the role-playing games that I have played up until now. They are the building blocks for all of my stories and without the music I probably would get stuck with writer's block. I can literally point to a story I wrote and tell you which song I was listening to (or collection of songs) that brought about the entire story. *lets out a nervous guffaw* It's crazy I know!
Which books could you just not put down?
Shockingly enough, I do not have one. I am not much of a reader. *hears a gasp in the audience, gets nervous again* I know. I know. I too am trying to figure out why I can run into the bookstore screaming and giggling like a little child and run over to the blank books section so I can pick up another journal/diary and not bother to explore the rest of the bookstore. Some mysteries should remain such
What foods can you just never seem to resist? Drinks?
Brace yourself: Hamburgers and Sushi! I swear to you that one day those two things will take over the world. I love them both and get craving every weekend for them. Aside from that, I do enjoy food in general especially something I have never had before. I like to experiment and try new things from different cultures. The only thing I cannot stand (nor have) is onions That stuff is nasty!
What are your pet peeves on dA and in general?
Begging. I cannot stand a person who begs for something from me. I notice that when I give out points to people and use the handy dandy charity box, it broadcasts that I just "may" have extra points So, I get messages and notes from people begging for me to contribute and make donations. I despise it so much. I would rather they come to my page, bombard me with comments, befriend me and get to know me, and then beg me for points sheesh.
On top of that, I am not a big fan of Literature that has no title. Call me crazy if you will but, I think all literature should have some form of title. It makes no sense and I frankly think it is lazy when a person writes almost fourteen thousand words yet the title is a measly, "Contest Entry" or "Unnamed" *shudders* all literature deserves a title.. just like the characters in your story deserves names.
One word: Pageviews. . . *looks at audience* Seriously?!
I also have a pet peeve with people who write literature but can't seem to take the time to read other peoples work. I won't like I get bombarded with deviations and my goal is very simple, "read them all" so I try my best Sadly I have devoted most of my time to reading group related deviations but still. I can't for the life of me figure out why people are willing to write to their hearts content but won't bother to dive into the many literature pieces offered of different deviants pages and read their work as well My motto: Comment, Fav, and move on.
I also huh? Oh I have to move to the next topic? *rummages through papers* But I still have some more pet peeves oh okay
Something random about yourself you wish to share?
*closes eyes* Everyday between the hours of 5pm and 6pm eastern time, I close my eyes (most times I am not driving) and I imagine a world ruled by Me, The Narrator. Laws and regulations would be enforced and well.. my anal-retentive mindset would make me a Tyrant. Heh.

What tips can you offer to better oneself in his or her art?
Always plan ahead before you sit down to write. Be sure that you have characters and can at least push out a few pages without the need of a secondary character. Always make sure you develop character templates so that you can stay focus on the character you have I read a lot of stories and have seen a few where the characters just fall out of their personality. Sometimes it is not that serious other times it is.
If you get stuck on prompts then *pulls out the same book from before* I recommend my new book called the Narrative OC Meme. It can come in handy and is only $19.99 at your local bookstore. What does Art mean to you?
Art to me is freedom of imagination and expression. Without those two things, I would never have been able to expose who I am through my writing and be able to tell a story behind it. Writing is a wonderful thing and through description and characters can you paint a picture of the world in your head. This process is powerful and even though you can't see it, just reading it will helps in unlocking a new world.
Is there anything else you wish to say?
`PurpelBlur It has been a pleasure doing this interview with you. Thank you. I must also thank the audience for not booing me off the fictitious stage. This was a wonderful experience and I do look forward to future interactions with all of you. Friendships are welcomed and encourage. *Smiles, signs autographs, shakes `PurpelBlur's hand*
Now, if you don't mind me asking, I consumed a lot of water and I need to know where the bathroom is!

Step One. . .Today was going to be that day.
That day Giovanni, the Golden Lion-Tamarin, would embark on a wonderful journey to the downstairs living room and watch flashy images on the strange box. He had been studying it for the longest of time over the past few weeks.
Yes, that day had finally come. And Giovanni knew that nothing could go wrong.
Winter orbs appeared from behind the wall, scanning the room until they landed on the grayish colored couch. From there they adjusted until he was looking at the black box pushed up against the wall. He grinned and approached with caution, glancing around the living as if some type of alarm would go off in t

The mission was simple
"Giovanni, you are to eliminate a certain individual who is destroying the human population." A man's voice called out to the Lion-Tamarin from behind a closed door. "On the table are files pertaining to this mission. You will be rewarded handsomely if you can bring back his head."
Giovanni gave off a yawn, his life as an assassin kept him with sleepless nights and constant paranoia of being caught. He stood slowly from his seat and gave off a stretch, that tail curling upward before coiling around his leg. "Understood." He approached the desk, snatching up the file and scanning through it
