:winner: It is time to toot your own horn! Let the world know who you are and what you can accomplish!

:blahblah: Most people are raised on the belief that talking about oneself is not polite which can lead to several missed opportunities. This belief probably turns into a cycle of fear of being rejected. Rejection is a part of the process to finding out where it is that we can be our best.

:star: There are some simple and effective ways to promote yourself: write educational tutorials/blogs/articles on a topic you are well versed in, volunteer in your local community, become a mentor, feature/promote the works of others, offer and give balanced critiques.

Our very own moonbeam13 has provided us with an excellent first step on the "You" campaign trail.

Moonbeam13 encourages you to post a journal "that serves as an artistic bio or a statement of purpose" and answers the following:

" 1. Who are you?
2. What is your artistic passion?
3. Why did you get into art?
4. How do you inspire yourself?
5. Where would you like to see yourself in 5 years?

If you aren't an artist, adapt the above to suit your situation. This is 'Self-Promotion' month and I encourage you all to embrace the wonderfully creative, talented and brilliant people you are and share it with the community. "

Continually practice self-promotion throughout the year and you might not only find success but strong friendships as well!

If you have any Literary or Visual works to support Self-Promotion, you are welcome to submit them to Community Projects > Holidays > 2009 > Self-Promotion Month.

I've been meaning to do this, but I keep getting distracted with other things. :XD:
