How did you first discover deviantART?

I think I was just browsing along the net and came across a shot of suzi9mm's that linked to her dA page. I was just getting back into photography after a self imposed hiatus and thought, "HELLO!"

What was it about dA that made you want to stay?

By far the community, I've made lifelong friends here as well as met my future wife mandiriffic

What is the story behind your username?

My daughter named me her "ghouldaddy" after a Rob Zombie lyric "..cool ghoul"

What do you remember of your childhood in regards to art?

I loved art, I was always drawing when I was growing up, mainly due to my love of comic books it wasn't until I was about 18 that I picked up a camera

Was there anything or anyone in particular that prompted your choice of art form?

Yeah my ex girlfriend dumped my ass. Seriously. I was actually a music journalist and she was my photographer. We worked together, hung out together etc and it was just too much, we never had our own time. So we split up..on the night of a Nine Inch Nails concert we were to cover. I needed a photographer for the show, so I went to a pawn shop, picked up a Pentax P5 and the rest is history. I've been shooting ever since.

Who or what motivates you to continue creating?

Pride. I'm a leo so I like looking at my own work. lol. I like it even more when people like looking at my work. I enjoy capturing life really.

Of your own work, which has the most meaning to you and why?

I'm attatched to all my work really, but there's three that just really stand out for me:

- pure pin up perfection, and for a great cause (Pin Ups for Farm Animal Sanctuary)

:thumb72910610: my firends Nikki and Tony got married on 7/7/7 and asked me to be their Photographer. To be able to capture this intimate moment for that was fantastic.

What are the duties and title of your role as an admin of deviantART?

I'm the Pin Up Gallery Moderator. This means I look after that galleries, ensuring it's kept clean of miscats..but that's just a small fraction. I'm YOUR voice to the core staff and their voice to you (that little voice nagging you in the back of your mind to submit more pin up, yeah that's me I'm here to help you, whether through critique or features or freaking awesome contests, it's all about getting your work out there.

Why did you decide to become an admin of deviantART?

because lolly threatened to show me his wang if I didn't join CEA...




ok seriously though...this site had given me soooo fricking much. friendships and inspiration. it was time to give back

As an admin, what do you want to achieve short term? Long term?

short term? moonbeam13, fourteenthstar and mandiriffic in pvc catsuits....longterm? recover from the previous statement.

What theatrical movies did you enjoy most?

Land of the Dead, especially cause I'm in it. (I was the boyfriend zombie through out the movie, as well as an extra in the bar scene)..mainly I enjoy comic book flicks, but good ones...Hellboy II was ass. Horror movies and anything that stars Bruce Campbell

What type of music do you listen to? (Specific groups/artists?)

definitely Rockabilly, Psychobilly and surf. Elvis, Chuck Berry, the Ventures, the Matadors, Brian Setzer. We have an awesome Rockabilly scene here in Canada and I've started promoting shows here in town

Which books could you just not put down?

Catcher in The Rye, Lord of the Flies, Fight Club, and the entire Harry Potter series

What foods can you just never seem to resist? Drinks?

chicken wings..I can never have enough wings..as for drinks, Labatt 50 or Pabst Blue Ribbon for beer or my own creation, The Sacred Heart which is a shot of fireball whiskey, dropped into a tumbler of redbull, then chugged.

What are your pet peeves on dA and in general?

dArama and stupidity. I mean seriously, I pay WAAAY too much money in education taxes for there to be stupid people.

One fact about yourself that few know about?

I was actually going to major in political science.

What tips can you offer to better oneself in his or her art? In
life?

I'm a firm believer that not everyone is an artist. let's face it, some peoples talents lie elsewhere. You can have the most expensive camera, or marker set, paintbrushes..and your work will still be shit if you don't have "it", some people have "it" but it's unrefined. To those people I say, just keep going. refine your work with each no attempt. Don't be afraid to think out of the box. The same goes for life. There's a saying "you will miss 100% of the shots you don't take", words to live by.

Is there anything else you wish to say?
